Comments : Posesses CF antigens in common with R. typhi and R. prowazekii with antisera prepared in GP, Rab, and Ha; however, MIF test with mouse antisera bled by ear after infection or immunization are quite specific. Highly infectious. May be handled under BL2 conditions (per CDC BMBL 5th edition, 2007).
